Zoominals was set up in 2010 and has slowly developed into the service it is today; an integrated veterinary service that can be utilised along side more traditional veterinary services. Zoominals only offers integrated treatment options so all regular testing and veterinary investigations are referred back to the primary care veterinarian, and communication is maintained throughout.

The staff at Zoominals offer a wide range of skills that are ever expanding, and are comfortable treating all species. Small animals (dogs, cats, small furries) are treated in the company of your own home or at a ‘location’ if previously arranged, and horses are treated either at their grazing or at a pre-arranged site during travel trips. Farm animals are treated on farm.

Zoominals’ primary veterinarian, Sara, travels New Zealand and further afield offering both assessment and treatment services and for teaching purposes. She studied veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College in London, graduating in 2006, and then entered mixed practice where she gained extensive experience in diagnostics, treatment and surgery in all species. Her love has always been biomechanics and how the body’s movement can positively or negatively impact the structures that support movement and general health, combined with a holistic approach and treating the individual animal. This is seen particularly in sports animals, although correct biomechanics and adjustment of these can also assist in management of diseases, including but not limited to osteoarthritis, neurological conditions, incontinence and a long list of internal diseases. Sara trained in Western Veterinary Acupuncture with the WVAG from the UK and Veterinary Chiropractic through the IAVC in Germany.

Zoominals offers regular visits to Dunedin/Balclutha, Invercargill, Rakaia/Ashburton and in the Canterbury area is to the west of the city approximately once a week. To find out when there is a visit to your area, please visit the booking page or contact us.
